Overview
The Marina Bay Sands Integrated resort, a multi-millionaire project designed by architect Moshe Safdie, was inaugurated in Singapore last July. The resort spreads over an area of 120.000 sq m and includes a luxurious hotel having 2.546 rooms, a convention and exhibition centre, two theatres, the Art Science Museum and the spectacular SkyPark (which has already become the icon in Singapore), a 340m long futuristic structure, which has a 150m pool shaped like the symbol of infinity, 200m high up on the three 60-floor towers of the hotel.

Installation
The Las Vegas Sands Corporation, proprietor of the Marina Bay Sands, has entrusted Laservision with the task of creating an extraordinary display of colours and light effects to properly celebrate the inauguration of the resort. The project has integrated searchlights, lasers, architectural projectors, moving head lights and LEDs in one single system, which is controlled by 8 DMX universes. Following a number of tests on various moving head projectors, Laservision opted for XR3000 SPOT CMY D.T.S. to light up the SkyPark. The aim was to create a sea wave effect on the bottom part of the SkyPark, using specially made gobo animated projections with “aquatic” designs, so as to give the illusion of a ship floating in the night sky. Fourteen XR3000 SPOT CMY’s have been installed on the fourth floor of the casino located in front of the SkyPark, which is over 200m away. Despite the distance between the two buildings, the XR3000 SPOT CMY’s have perfectly satisfied the difficult task of projecting extremely clear and bright images. The Art Science Museum is the other icon of the marina Bay Sands resort with its distinguished shape of an open hand. Laservision has installed 18 ARC 1200 D.T.S. architectural projectors around the museum, which light up the gigantic structure with a uniform colour, seen from across the bay.
